History

The settlement of Treven is first recorded as "Trewyn" in 1327. The name contains the element tre 'estate, farmstead' suggesting a settlement of early medieval origin. Tre also means 'farm' and ven, venton, fenton (fenton = where we get 'fountain' in English) often means 'spring' or 'well'. There are springs and wells all around Treven Barn & Owl's House - The farm with a spring.
